Yǒng é
(To Goose)
by Luò Bīnwáng (627-684 approximate)

Luò Bīnwáng is one of the four prominent poets of the early Tang period. He wrote this poem when he was approximately seven years old.

This poem is learned by children all over China. The simple text makes it easy to learn, even if you do not speak Chinese. Many songs have been made to go with this poem;
this version is the one that is learned in school by students.

I took the video of children at a school in China singing this song.

Pinyin Version

é, é, é,
Qǔ xiàng xiàng tiān gē.
Bái máo fú lǜ shuǐ,
Hóng zhǎng bō qīng bō.
