Hǎo Dà Yì Kē Shù
(Great Big Tree)
Lyrics by Zhou You Kai, Melody by Wu Jia Q

This is a popular song in China.  The strong and powerful tree can be symbolic of teachers and parents.

This song is sung with lots of emotion.  It would be an excellent song for teacher, volunteer and parent appreciation.

English Translation

Above your head is the sky and under your feet is the ground.
In the wind and the rain you lift up your heart.  Even the ice and snow will not suppress you, the great big tree.
Green tree, green leaves.  Leaves with lots of happy and sad stories.
You give the land lots of shade.
Music notes of love, with the wind being your song.
The clouds are your footsteps.
We praise this world under the care of the great big tree.
